    Barton, Sept. 19 — Thomas G. Mowbray, 44, husband of Mrs. Elsie (Crowe) Mowbray, this place, died last night in Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser. W. Va., where he was taken earlier in the day. He had been in ill health for a week. A native of Midland, Mr. Mowbray was the son of Thomas Mowbray, Barton, and the late Mary (Lyons) Mowbray. He was a graduate of Barton High School and a member of the Barton Methodist church. Surviving besides his wife and father are four daughters, Doris, Ruth, Helen and June, all at home; two brothers, Walter Emory Mowbray, Detroit, and Benjamin Myrle Mowbray, Franklin, Mich., and a sister, Mrs. Bertram Major, Washington, D.C.     BARTON — Mrs. Elsie Mowbray Boddicker, 82, of Route 36, died Thursday in Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. Born in Lonaconing Nov. 1, 1904, she was the daughter of the late Thornton and Eleanor Blanche (Murphy) Crowe. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Mowbray. Mrs. Boddicker was a member of Barton United Methodist Church and the Friendly Helpers Bible Class. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Helen Grayson, Keyser, W.Va.; Mrs. Ruth Keesling, Springfield, Mo., and Mrs. June Ruffo, Crownsville; one brother, Olin M. Crowe, New Kensington, Pa.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Friends will be received in the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, Friday. Services will be conducted there Saturday at 1 p.m. by the Rev. Todd Rawlings. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.     Thornton J. Crowe, Jr., guardian of James T. Crowe, and William W. Crowe, of Allegany county, settled his seventh accounts and orders of allowance were passed thereon. The Evening Times, Cumberland, December 12, 1908


    Thornton J. Crowe, aged 48 years, was instantly killed on Saturday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock in Ocean Mine No. 1, of the Consolidation Coal Company, when a mass of top coal fell burying him beneath it. The remains were removed to Spiers' undertaking establishment at Lonaconing in the Consolidation Coal Company's ambulance, and later to his home in Detmold. Deceased was born in Pompey Smash (now Vale Summit) this county, and when he was one year old his parents moved to Lonaconing, where he lived ever since. He is survived by his wife and five children, namely: Mrs. P. L. Ginevan, of Donora, Pa.; James, William, Olin and Elsie Crowe, of Lonaconing, and by two sisters, Mrs. David McGee and Mrs. George S. Ternent, of Lonaconing, and by six brothers, John, Edward, Ellsworth, Clarence and Albert, of this city, and Charles, of Westernport. His father, Mr. Thornton Crowe, also survives. Mr. Crowe was a member of the Midland Aerie, No. 1121 F.O.E. The funeral arrangements have not yet been completed. The Evening Times, Cumberland, June 23, 1913

    May 10 - Mrs. Blanche Murphy Crowe, 74, Lonaconing, widow of Thornton J. Crowe, died yesterday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Thomas Mowbray, Jr., at Barton. She suffered a paralytic stroke in January and since then has been at her daughter's home. She was a member of the Lonaconing Methodist Church. Besides her daughter, she is survived by one son, Olin Crowe, New Kensington, Pa.; three step-children, William and James Crowe, Lonaconing, and Mrs. James McIntosh, New Kensington, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Hanlin, Westernport; Mrs. McClelland Fazenbaker, Swanton, Md., and Mrs. Robert Turnbull, Sr., Lonaconing; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the home of her daughter at Barton.
