    James Albert Jackson, 83, of Keyser, W.Va. died Thursday, Dec. 9, 1993 at Sacred Heart Hospital Hospice, Cumberland, Md. Born March 22, 1910 in Lonaconing, Md. Son of the late John and Melissa Pearl (Martin) Jackson. Preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Mae (Yutzy) Jackson who died May 18, 1962. Jackson was a custodian for Boardman, Ohio, Member of the Old Furnace Church of the Brethren, Ridgeley, W.Va. and American Association of Retired People. Survivors are his wife, Kathryn S. Jackson; three sons, Glenn Jackson and wife, Beverly, Austintown, Ohio; Dalton Jackson and wife, Shirley, New Waterford, Ohio; James Jackson and wife Nancy, Columbiana, Ohio; one daughter, Mary Alice Mankamyer and husband Clay, Somerset; three borthers: Lawrence Jackson, Meyersdale; Cecil Jackson, Meyersdale; John Jackson, Friedens; three step-children: David Sutton and wife, Marion, Ridgeley, W.Va.; Betty Spiggle and husband, Dr. Wayne, Keyser; William Sutton and wife, Barbara, Dayton, Ohio; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren and 9 step-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown, Md. on Sunday. Services will be conducted at Scarpelli Funeral Home, Cresaptown, Md. on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Jackson, June 15, 1973. Surviving are four sons, James of Jackson, Ky.; John Jr. of Columbiana, Ohio; Lawrence and Cecil of Meyersdale RD 3; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was a sister of Howard Martin of Temple, Texas; George Martin, Meyersdale RD 3; Charles Martin, Boardman, Ohio; Louis Martin, Mrs. Geneva Summers and Mrs. Alpha Webb, all of Youngstown, Ohio. Funeral arrangements in charge of Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, are incomplete.

    Christopher Martens Is Taken By Death

    Christopher R. Martens, aged 66, of 722 Lexington Ave., died of complications at 8:10 p. m. yesterday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Summers. He had lived in Youngstown 20 years. Born in Pennsylvania, Mr. Martens came to Youngstown in 1912. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Church and well known in the city. Mr. Martens leaves his wife Kathryn Shell Martens, and the following children: Walter Martens of Frostburg, Md.; Mrs. John Jackson of Sandpatch, Pa.; George Martens of Meyersdale, Pa.; Howard Martens of Belton, Tex.; Cleaver, Leroy, Charles, Louis Martens and Mrs. Gene Webb, all of Youngstown, and 22 grandchildren. Two brothers, Henry and William Martens of Youngstown and two sisters, Mrs. Emil Sweitzer of McDonald, Pa. and Mrs. Pete Michaels of Barnsville, Pa. The body is at Higgins Funeral Home and will be taken to 722 Lexington Ave. on Monday evening. Funeral services will be at 2.30 p.m. Wednesday at the residence. Burial will be in Belmont Cemetery.     Howard and George Marten, who reside near Meyersdale, attended the funeral of their father, Christopher Marten, aged 66, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Edward Summers, at Youngstown, Ohio, on Monday morning. He was a native of Wellersburg, this county. Among his other surviving children are Mrs. John Jackson, of Sand Patch; Walter Marten, of Frostburg, Md.; Leroy and Charles Marten, Mrs. Eugene Debb and Mrs. Edward Summers, of Youngstown, Ohio, and Louis Marten, of Dallas, Texas. Two sisters, Mrs. Peter Michaels, of Wellersburg, and Mrs. Mary Sweitzer, of Macdonaldton, and two brothers, Henry and William Marten, of Youngstown, Ohio, and his wife, Mrs. Catherine Marten, also survive.     Mrs. Christopher Martin - Mrs Catherine Martin, 87, of the Miller Rest Home, 150 W.Woodland Ave, died of infirmities at 3:10 p.m. Tuesday at the home. Mrs. Martin was born Oct. 20, 1867 in Maryland, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Rizer. She came to Youngstown about 40 years ago and before going to the rest home, she lived about 3 years with a daughter, Mrs. Pearl Jackson in Sand Patch, PA. She was a member of Hillman St. Christian Church. Her husband, Christopher Martin, died in 1932. Besides Mrs. Jackson, she leaves two other daughters, Mrs. Geneva Summers and Mrs. Alpha Webb, both of Youngstown; 5 sons, George of Meyersdale, PA; Howard of Belton, TX; and Roy, Charles and Louis of Youngstown; 27 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Shriver-Allison South Side Funeral Home, where friends may call tomorrow evening. December 22, 1954
