MT. SAVAGE — Cyrus S. Winebrenner, 56, of 2306 East 30th Street, Lorain, Ohio, died Tuesday at Lorain Hospital after a short illness. Born in Mt. Savage, he was a son of the late William and Susan (Hutzell) Winebrenner and was employed by U. S. Steel Company in Lorain. He was a member of Mt. Savage Methodist Church. Surviving are his widow, Emma P. (Winebrenner) Winebrenner; three sons, Clinton J., Francis W. and James R. Winebrenner, all of Lorain; two daughters, Mrs. Viola E. Brahamn, Elyria, Ohio, and Mrs. Cora M. Skidmore, here; five brothers, Lonnie R. Winebrenner, Bowling Green; James H. Winebrenner, Eckhart; Ralph Winebrenner, Mt. Savage; Clinton Winebrenner, Hyndman, and David W. Winebrenner, Baltimore; six sisters, Mrs. Sarah Bower, Mrs. Louise Witt, Mrs. Myrtle Rice, Mrs. Susanna Trimble, Mrs. Eleanor Winebrenner, all of Mt. Savage; Mrs. Viola Deal, Frostburg, and 28 grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where friends will be received todav from 7 until 9 p. m. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 2 p. m. with Rev. Kenneth C. Hamrick officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Savage Methodist Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wayne Skidmore, Lawrence Bridges, David, Roger and Bernard Winebrenner and Ernest Deal.

He died on 5 Apr 1910 at the age of 71 in Mount Savage, Allegany Co., Maryland. Mt. Savage - Mr. John Winebrenner, in poor health for the last few years, died Tuesday morning (5 Apr.) at 6 o'clock. The following children survive: Jesse Winebrenner, Stewart Winebrenner, Thomas Winebrenner, Lawrence Winebrenner, William Winebrenner and Mrs. Nathan Crawford. Lawrence Logsdon b c1800 - died 1886, was aged79 in 1880. Lawrence Logsdon marriedMalinda Porter b 1799/1800 PA, daughter of William Porter. "William Porter, late of Allegany Co MD.(will written 20 May 1836, pr 25 Mar 1844) has wife unnamed, Children: Lendy Logsdon, wife of Lawrence Logsden, SarahLogsdon wife of Anthony Logsden.[1] He was age 10<15 (10) in 1810, marriedbefore 1820 census, he is m 18<26 and wife 16<26 in 1820 census, page 18. In 1830 the census index has him on page 38,which Letha Mitchell has read with Lawrence 20<30, wife 20<30 and 4 malesunder 10. By 1840 he has relocated toBedford Co PA where we have: m 40<50 (Lawrence), f 40<50 (Lendy-wife), 2m15<20, m 10<15, f 10<15, 2m 5<10, m <5, and f <5. This is undoubtedly the Lawrence Logsdon forwhich I have information from several descendents[1].
I have not looked at the 1850 Bedford PA census where Letha has him located, but she has him back in MD, Mt Savage area, in 1860, 1870 and1880. 1860: Lawrence 59, Mary 61,Anthony 24, Samuel 20, Sarah 17 and Hiram 8. In 1870 Lawrence is age 70, Mary 71, Anthony is 37 34 with wife Rachel and two children, and Hiram 17. By 1880 he is 79 and living with son Moses and family.

Lawrence married Malinda Porter about 1820. Malinda (daughter of William Porter and Mary Nelson) was born in 1800 in Pennsylvania; died in UNKNOWN. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
