CRESAPTOWN — Ronald Eugene McKenzie Sr., 64, of Cresaptown, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, at Washington County Hospital, Hagerstown. Ronnie had been a resident of Avalon Manor Nursing Home, Hagerstown, for the last four months. Born March 23, 1939, in Cresaptown, he was the son of the late Thomas E. and Lena (Dawson) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was retired from Allient Technology, a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed gardening. Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Catherine “Kitty” (Fisher) McKenzie, Cresaptown; son, Ronald E. McKenzie Jr. and wife Tina, Martinsburg, W.Va.; granddaughters, Tarynee and Brianne, Martinsburg; sisters, Mary Lou Lechliter, Cumberland, Kitten McDowell and husband Timothy, Potomac Park; brothers, Thomas McKenzie and wife Betty, Rawlings, Edward McKenzie, Bowman’s Addition, Kenneth McKenzie and wife Agnes, Cresaptown, Michael McKenzie and wife Sharon, and Donald McKenzie and wife Maxine, all of Keyser, W.Va.; two sisters-in-law, Delana Witt and husband Art, Potomac Park, and Bonnie Smith, Cayce, S.C.; several aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, PA., Cresaptown, on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. The Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 8:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Friday at IO a.m. with Father James Kurtz, O.F.M., Cap. as celebrant. CRESAPTOWN - Thomas E. McKenzie, 78, Cresaptown, died Tuesday, June 27, 1989, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Feb. 4, 1911, in Cresaptown, he was the son of the late Albert and Alice (Roberson) McKenzie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lena C. (Dawson) McKenzie, April 9, 1981. Mr. McKenzie was a retired custodian for the Celanese Fiber Corporation’s Amcelle Plant and a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Surviving are six sons, Edward W. McKenzie, Bowman’s Addition; Thomas L. McKenzie, Rawlings; Ronald E. McKenzie and Kenneth L. McKenzie, both of Cumberland; and Joseph M. McKenzie and Donald W. McKenzie, both of Keyser, W.Va.; two daughters, Mary Lechliter, Cumberland; and Kitten McDowell, Potomac Park; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Lease and Theresa McKenzie, both of Cresaptown; and Margaret Clayton, Riverdale; one brother, Clarence McKenzie, Cresaptown; 18 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Hafer Chapel of the Hills Mortuary. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church by the Rev. DeSales Young. Albert McKenzie, 64, a life-long resident of Cresaptown, died yesterday at Allegany Hospital. Besides his widow, who was Alice Robison, he is survived by ten children: Anna, Samuel, Thomas, Helen, John, Margaret, Nellie, William, Clarence and Eva Theresa McKenzie. Mrs. Alice M. Clayton, 87, of Winchester Road, Cresaptown, died today in Sacred Heart Hospital. A native of Cumberland, she was a daughter of the late Joshua and Mary Alice (Sinnett) Robison. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Albert J. McKenzie. and her second husband, Brooks H. Clayton. Mrs. Clayton was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Samuel Lease, Cresaptown: Mrs. Thornton Lease, Cresaptown; Mrs. George Clayton, Riverdale, and Theresa McKenzie, at home; three sons, Thomas E. Kenzie, Clarence M. Mckenzie and William G. McKenzie, of Cresaptown; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Kaylor, Paw Paw, W.Va.; 31 grandchildren, 43 great-grandehildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also surviving are a number of nieces nephews. The body is at the George Funeral Home where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p. m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m.
