    GILMORE — Joseph B. Kerr, 62, of here, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital. Born in Wardensville, W.Va., he was the son of the late John Samuel and Ada Alice (Snider) Kerr. Mr. Kerr was an employee of the G.C. Murphy Store in Cumberland, and was employed there for 41 years. He was a veteran of Worl War II, a member of the Midland American Legion, and a member of the G. C. Murphy Veterans Club. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Martha Beeman Kerr; a son, Joseph B. Kerr, Fairfield, W.Va.; three sisters, Mrs. Virginia Carnaby, of West Virginia; Mrs. Audrey Stultz, Winchester, Va., and Mrs. Maxine Orris, Harrisonburg, Va.; three brothers, Ewell Kerr, Daniel Kerr and Arndale Kerr, all of Wardensville; and one grandchild. Friends will be received at the Eichhom Funeral Home. The rosary will be recited at the funeral home Friday evening. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Midland. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The Cumberland News, December 31, 1981

    Martha Adeline Kerr, 89, of Frostburg, passed away Friday, Dec, 9, 2016 at WMHS-Frostburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born Jan. 30, 1927, in Gilmore, Mrs. Kerr was the daughter of the late Charles Beeman and Martha (McKenzie) Beeman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Kerr, Dec. 30, 1981; a sister, Mary E. (Beeman) Cannon; and was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A homemaker, Martha was a graduate of Central High School and was a member of Divine Mercy Parish-St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Midland, where she was a member of the Sodality. Martha is survived by a son, Joseph B. Kerr Jr., and wife, Rebecca Weimer, Thurmont; two grandchildren, Jeff Kerr and wife, Christine, Waynesboro, Pa. and Deacon Steve Kerr and wife, Danielle, Lewistown; and five great-grandchildren, Zach, Ella, Michael, Emma, and Grace. She is also survived by her three nieces, Gilberta Drew and husband, Ernest, Gilmore, Mary Moyer and husband, Paul, Midland, and JoAnn Everett, Gilmore; as well as numerous great nieces and great nephews. A graveside service will be held at Saint Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Midland, at a later date. Adams Family Funeral Home, Cumberland, is in charge of arrangements. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Dewey Shroyer, Salisbury, Pa. and Mrs. Joseph Kerr, Silver Spring; two sisters, Mrs. Tiny Clise, here, and Mrs. Charles Devault, here; two brothers, Clinton Beeman, here and Melvin Beeman, Frostburg; and four grandchildren.
