Leo Danahey, 77, of Elm Grove, Va., and formerly of Lonaconing, died yesterday at a Wheeling hospital. A native of Nikep, he was a son of the late John and Helen (Ricker) Danahey. Surviving are his widow, Catherine (McKenzie) Danahey, also of Lonaconing; two sons, Urban L. and Thomas Danahey, Elm Grove; two daughters, Miss Joan Danahey, at home; Mrs. Mary Frances Jordan of Kenucky; two sisters, Mrs. Nana Fitzpatrick and Mrs. Helen Folmer, Elm Grove; a brother, Frederick Danahey, Elm Grove, and seven grandchildren. The body is a the Kepner Funeral Home in Elm Grove. Mass will be celebrated in Elm Grove, with interment there. The Cumberland Evening Times, January 8, 1972.

ELM GROVE, W.Va. - Catherine A. (McKenzie) Danahey, 87, of Elm Grove, Pa.(sic), formerly of Lonaconing, died Friday, Oct. 30, 1992, at her home. Mrs. Danahey was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Danahey and two sons, Urban and Thomas. Surviving are two daughters, Joan Danahey, at home; Mary Frances Jorden, Griffith, Ind.; one brother Walter McKenzie, Ellerslie; one sister, Ellen Lee Cordial, Lonaconing; 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Urban Francis MCKENZIE (Elias Marcellus-1) was born on 29 Oct 1881 in Avilton, Garrett Co., Maryland. He died on 30 Oct 1958 in Lonaconing, Allegany Co., Maryland. LONACONlNG - Urban F. McKenzie, 77, died last night at his home on Detmold Street. Born in Avilton, he was a son of the late Elias and Rebecca (Garlitz) McKenzie. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Sarah (Garlitz) McKenzie; two sons, Walter and Lawrence McKenzie, both of Lonaconing; two daughters, Mrs. Danahey, Elm Grove, W. Va., and Mrs. Bernard Cordial, Lonaconing; a sister, Mrs. John McNemar, Lonaconing, and nine grandchildren. The body is at the residence where the rosary will be recited Sunday at 7:30 p. m. She died on 12 May 1964 in Frostburg, Allegany Co., Maryland. LONACONING - Mrs. Sarah E. McKenzie, 76, died yesterday at Miners Hospital, Frostburg. A native of Avilton, she was a daughter of the late Otha and Annabelle (Durst) Garlitz. Her husband was the late Urban McKenzie. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Leo Danahey, Elm Grove, W. Va., and Mrs. Bernard Cordial, Lonaconing; two sons, Walter and Lawrence McKenzie, both of Lonaconing; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Lela Schaub, Eckhart; two brothers, Harry Garlilz, Elm Grove, and Joseph Garlitz, with the Armed Forces in Japan. Mrs. McKenzie was a member of Lonaconing Homemakers, the Firemen's Auxiliary, and the Sodality at St. Mary's Catholic Church here. The body is at the residence on Detmold Street. Requiem mass will be celebrated Thursday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary's Church with Rev. Frederick Duke as celebrant. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
