FROSTBURG - William Hayes Festerman Jr., 81, of Armstrong St., Frostburg, died April 10, 2002, at Sacred Heart Hospital. His family was at his bedside at the time of his passing. Born April 30, 1920, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late William and Blanche (Hawkins) Festerman Sr. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Gene and Richard Edwin; two daughters, Jeannie Kay (infant), and Sharon Lee Richards; one son-in-law, Ronald "Hose" Richards; and a special friend Edison Lohr. Mr. Festerman retired as a driver with Charlton Brothers Trucking in 1980, and he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a life member of the Frostburg American Legion, the Frostburg Moose Lodge 348, and a member of the Bruceton Mills V.F.W. in West Virginia. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Agnes C. (Klosterman) Festerman; two daughters, Linda Craze, Springfield, Va., and Mary Ann Schurg, Midland; four grandchildren, James Craze and wife Cheree, Laurel, Aimee Lynne Craze, Washington, D.C., Leann Richards, Frostburg, and Scott Richards and Friend, Laura Rafferty. His body was cremated, and a memorial service will be conducted at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57, Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Saturday at 10 a.m. with Linda Craze officiating. Friends will be received one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park at a later date.
