    Walter Edward Wade was born on 1 Apr 1879. He died in 1907. Walter Wade, a young man residing at Borden Shaft, near Frostburg, was brought here Iast evening, over the Cumberland and Westernport Railway, and taken to the Western Maryland hospital, in Wolford's ambulance, suffering from a gunshot wound in the arm below the elbow. He was accidentally shot while tusseling with his brother for the possession of a shot gun. It would appear that his brother David had the gun and that Walter was trying to get it away from him. It was stated at the hospital this afternoon that the young man was resting nicely and no serious results were anticipated. The Cumberland Evening Times, December 16, 1907

Wade in the Circuit Court. They were married in Frostburg in 1891(sic). Desertion is charged. It is said the defendant is now a resident of Harrisburg, Ill. The suit was filed by H. R. He was a retired farmer and had been in ill health for a long period. Mr. Winebrenner was a member of Mt. Zion Methodist church, Garrett county. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Laura (Layton) Winebrenner, eight sons and three daughters: Howard, James, Roy, Harry, Clayton, Grant, Francis, and Leonard Winebrenner, Mrs. Alice Hetz, Mrs. Myrtle Wade, and Miss Nellie Winebrenner, all residents of this section. Services will be held Monday at 2:30 p. m. at the home, with the Rev. Raymond Crowe, pastor of Midland circuit, officiating, interment will be in Mt. Zion cemetery, Garrett county.     James Winebrenner, 75, retired farmer of Garrett County, Maryland on Route 1, Salisbury, died at his home at 12:20 p.m., on Saturday, December 29, of a complication of diseases. He had been in failing health for some time, and when he contracted the flu the same week, lived but a few days. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laura (Layton) Winebrenner, and eight sons and three daughters - Howard, James, Roy, Harry, Clayton, Francis and Leonard, and Mrs. Alice Hetz, Mrs. Myrtle Wade and Nellie, all residing nearby in Garrett County. Funeral services were conducted at his home at 2:30 p.m., on Monday, December 31, with the Rev. Ray Crowe, pastor of the Midland, Md., Methodist Church officiating. Interment in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Garrett County in charge of Durst & Son, Frostburg undertakers. Meyersdale Republican, January 3, 1946

The flower bearers were granddaughters, Norma Wade, Charlotte and Maxine Wade, Naomi Wade, Matilda Wade and Geraldine Plummer, and pallbearers, grandsons, Charles, Alonzo, Harold, Kenneth and David Plummer, and Carl Wade. Among those attending were Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wade and son and daughter, Orville, Ohio, Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Wear and son Harry, Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Grossman, New Castle, Pa.; Mrs. John Wade and sons Lawrence and Allan, and daughter, Mrs. Bernadette Woodson, Orville, Ohio; John Wade, Morgantown, W. Va.; Mr. and Mrs. James Lily, Mt. Savage; Mr. and Mrs. C. H. Plummer and family, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sires and son, Harry, Jr., Norman Schiller and son, Alfred, Cumberland; Mrs. Clara Dailey, Westernport; Mrs. Katie Hughes Fazenbaker and son, Keyser. Walter Wade, Harrisburg, a son, was unable to attend because of illness. Mr. Wade, a life-long resident and veteran coal miner, also leaves 30 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Wade died in a Frostburg hospital Wednesday morning following a heart attack suffered several weeks ago. Pall bearers were grandsons of the deceased and included Earl and Franklin Wade. He was the husband of the late Sarah Etta Wilson and Evelyn Stevey Crowe, both preceding him in death. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Rose Durst, born to his first wife; and by the second wife, besides Mrs. Hume, there, are two other daughters, Mrs. Sherman Umstot and Mrs. Alek Main, both of Borden Shaft; two sons, Herman and Walter Crowe, both of Frostburg; and the following sisters, Mrs. Mollie Hawkins, Ohio; Mrs. Lou Layman, Mrs. Collins DeVore, Mrs. Rose Nelson, all of Frostburg; Mrs. Nancy Weimer, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, two great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchlldren.
