    Notes:

    The first Wilder know in history was Nicholas, a military chieftain, in the army of the Earl of Richmond, at the battle of Bosworth, in 1585. The fact that is a German name, and that is common in some parts of Germany at the present time, would indicate that he was one of those who came with the Earl from France, and landed at Milford Haven.

    Elizabeth's estate was probated in 1544 in Archdeacon Court, Berkshire, England.usup(2) /u/sup Elizabeth (Isabell) (Wilder) wrote her will July 9, 1544 in Sulham, Oxfordshire, England. The 1544 will of Elizabeth Wilder lists such a remarkably similar set of sons that she must be considered to have been the same as Isabell, widow of Nicholas. She named her son John, the elder, to be supervisor of her will. It was he who had responsibility that masses should be said for the health of her soul. The next sons she mentioned were Henry and Thomas Wilder, who were not named in her husband's will. Next she made bequests to John Wilder, the younger, and to William Wilder, and gave two sheep to John and Thomas Wilder, sons of John Wilder, the elder, as named in her husbands will. She added 20 pounds 13 shillings fourpence for Elizabeth Wilder, whose relationship she did not mention, to be paid by John, the elder. Finally, she named sons Richard and Nicholas Wilder to be executors, and to have the residue of her estate.
    She made a will July 9, 1544 in Sulham, Oxfordshire, England.
