Poem - In Sacred Memory of Mrs. Mary A. Robison
In sad and loving remembrance of dear mother, who departed this life four months ago;
The midnight stars are beaming; Upon our darling mothers grave.
Where sleepth without dreaming; That Dear one we could not save.
Heaven retaineth now our treasure; Earth the lonely casket keeps.
And the sunbeams love to linger; Where our darling mother sleeps.
Home is sad, oh god how dreary; Lonely and lonesome every spot.
Listening for her voice till weary, Weary for, we hear it not.
Light is from our household taken; A voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant at our home; Which never can be filled.
When the Lord, said you have finished; Come up higher mother dear.
You have won a crown in heaven; By the pain you suffered here.
Silently the shades of evening, Gathered round your lonely grave.
Silently it brings before us, that dear face we could not save.
Some who saw you in your casket, Pure and white and oh so fair.
Thought that you were an angel, As you lay so sweetly there.
God has given, God has taken, By quest, we must hear the pain.
...........long one has promised, ........... heaven shall me again.
By Her Daughter Sarah
