Mr. Roger Hume Myers, 71, who resided at 8820 Fingerboard Road, Frederick, died Friday, March 26, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, after an illness of two weeks. He was the husband of Mrs. Rachel G. Darr Myers. Born Jan. 30, 1911, in Frederick County, Mr. Myers was the son of the late W. Beveridge and Hattie Rebecca Fry Myers. Mr. Myers retired in 1969 from the Frederick County Roads Department as foreman, after 30 years of service. He was a former member of Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, the Urbana Volunteer Fire Department and the Loyal Order of Moose, No. 371. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are four sons, Howard G. Myers and Roger C. Myers, both of Libertytown, Robert B. Myers of Mountaindale and Ralph M. Myers, Urbana; three brothers, Roy Myers of Urbana, Carlos Myers of Frederick, and Jack Myers of Dover, Del.; three sisters, Mrs. Louise Moore of Buckeystown, Mrs. Dorothy Darr of Adamstown, and Mrs. Arleen Angleberger of Funkstown; 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, March 29, at the Smith, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 30, from the funeral home. The Rev. Brian T. L. Hunt, Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, will officiate. Mrs. Rachel Gertrude Myers, 73, of 8820 Fingerboard Road, Urbana, died Wednesday evening, Sept. 3, at Citizens Nursing Home. She was the widow of Roger H. Myers, who died in March 1982. Born April 1, 1913, in Cresaptown, Mrs. Myers was a daughter of the late Howard and Daisy Grant Darr. Mrs. Myers was a member of the ladies auxiliary to the Urbana Volunteer Fire Co. and she had attended Saint Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church in Urbana. Surviving are four sons, Howard "Mick" Myers, Roger "Chick" Myers, both of Libertytown, Robert Myers of Mountaindale, Ralph "Mike" Myers of Urbana; two brothers, Leo Darr of Adamstown, Ralph Darr of Boulder, Colo.; one sister, Mary Trittipoe of Frederick; 12 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Myers was predeceased by a grandson, Randy Myers. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5, and 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the Smith, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 7, from Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. Thomas T. Howard Darr, of near Hyattstown, died at the Frederick City Hospital about 4 o'clock this morning, death being due to pneumonia. Mr. Darr had been a patient at the hospital for several days. He was a farmer and was 53 years of age. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Daisy C. Darr, and the following children: Leo H. Darr, Miss Rachel G. Darr and Ralph C. Darr, at home; and Mrs. Mary Trittapoe, this city; three grandchildren; two brothers: Harry Darr, Washington; and Charles Darr, Ballston, Va.; and five sisters, Mrs. Luther Magaha, Buckeystown; Mrs. Ethel Copeland, Cumberland; Miss Florence Darr, Miss Nettie Darr, and Mrs. Sidney Michael, this city. The funeral will take place Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the late home, followed by interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery. W. B. Burdette, Hyattstown, funeral director. Mrs. Daisy G. Darr, residing on Route 2, died Wednesday evening in Frederick Memorial Hospital where the had been a patient for several days. She was born in Allegheny County on Nov. 11, 1880, a daughter of the late John and Mary Elizabeth McKinsey Grant and the widow of Howard Darr. Surviving are the following children: Leo Darr, Adamstown; Mrs. Perry Trittipoe, Frederick; Ralph Darr, Boulder, Colorado; and Mrs. Roger Myers, Route 2; brothers and sisters: Richard Grant and Mrs. Bertha Stottlemyer, both of Cresaptown; Mrs. Edna Stottlemyer, Cumberland; John Grant, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Darr was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Urbana. Friends may call at the M. R. Etcideen Funeral Home at 196 East Church Street, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. Services will take place Monday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Urbana, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be intoned by the pastor, the Rev. John D. Grant, 75, a farmer of Cresaptown, died this morning at his home. Mr. Grant is survived by two sons, John and Richard Grant, both of Cresaptown, and by five daughters, Mrs. Scott Chilott, Mrs. James Stottlemeyer, Mrs. John Stottlemeyer, and Mrs. Edward Carpenter, all of Cresaptown, and Mrs. Howard Darr, Frederick, Md. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a. m. Thursday from the Cresaptown Church, with burial in the Cresaptown cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, July 11, 1928.

Grant, died yesterday morning at her home in Cresaptown. She is survived by the following children: Mrs. H. S. Chilcott, Richard Grant and Mrs. James Stottlemeyer, Cresaptown; Mrs. Howard Darr, Frederick, Md.; Mrs. Edward Carpenter, Philadelphia, Pa.; Mrs. John Stottlemeyer, this city, and John Grant, of Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon at the Cresaptown Methodist Episcopal Church, with interment in the church cemetery. The Cumberland Evening Times, April 23, 1931.
