    Mr. Leo Howard Darr, 79, who resided on Adam Street, in Adamstown, died Tuesday, March 17, at Frederick Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy Myers Darr. Born Nov. 21, 1907, in Cumberland, Mr. Darr was a son of the late Howard and Daisy Grant Darr. Mr. Darr was retired as a salesman with the Lily Pons Water Gardens. He was a member of Fervency Lodge 200, AF&A Masons, Point of Rocks, and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1067, Frederick. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, A. Rita Lookingbill of Rockville; one brother, Ralph C. Darr of Boulder, Colo.; one sister, Mrs. Mary Trittipoe of Frederick and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Darr was predeceased by one son, Eugene L. Darr. The family will receive friends 7-9 p.m. Friday, March 20, at the Smith, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 21, from Etchison Memorial Chapel of the funeral home. The Rev. W. Garner Werntz, pastor of Trinity Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ, Adamstown, will officiate. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. There will be a memorial service on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home conducted by the Masons. The Frederick News, March 18, 1987.

    Howard Darr, of near Hyattstown, died at the Frederick City Hospital about 4 o'clock this morning, death being due to pneumonia. Mr. Darr had been a patient at the hospital for several days. He was a farmer and was 53 years of age. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Daisy C. Darr, and the following children: Leo H. Darr, Miss Rachel G. Darr and Ralph C. Darr, at home; and Mrs. Mary Trittapoe, this city; three grandchildren; two brothers: Harry Darr, Washington; and Charles Darr, Ballston, Va.; and five sisters, Mrs. Luther Magaha, Buckeystown; Mrs. Ethel Copeland, Cumberland; Miss Florence Darr, Miss Nettie Darr, and Mrs. Sidney Michael, this city. The funeral will take place Wednesday morning at 11 o'clock from the late home, followed by interment in Mt. Olivet cemetery. W. B. Burdette, Hyattstown, funeral director.     Mrs. Daisy G. Darr, residing on Route 2, died Wednesday evening in Frederick Memorial Hospital where the had been a patient for several days. She was born in Allegheny County on Nov. 11, 1880, a daughter of the late John and Mary Elizabeth McKinsey Grant and the widow of Howard Darr. Surviving are the following children: Leo Darr, Adamstown; Mrs. Perry Trittipoe, Frederick; Ralph Darr, Boulder, Colorado; and Mrs. Roger Myers, Route 2; brothers and sisters: Richard Grant and Mrs. Bertha Stottlemyer, both of Cresaptown; Mrs. Edna Stottlemyer, Cumberland; John Grant, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Darr was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church in Urbana. Friends may call at the M. R. Etcideen Funeral Home at 196 East Church Street, Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 3 to 9 p.m. Services will take place Monday at 10:30 a.m. from St. Ignatius Loyola Catholic Church, Urbana, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be intoned by the pastor, the Rev. Anthony C.Tomaschke. Interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery. The Frederick News, September 20, 1968.
