FINZEL, MARYLAND - Eugene "Flooze" McKenzie, age 65, of 373 Finzel Road, Frostburg, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 1998, at Sacred Heart Hospital. Born Oct. 9, 1933, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late John W. and Grace (Michaels) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a retired brick molder from the Kaiser Refractories, Zihlman. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg. Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Hazel (McKenzie) McKenzie; one daughter, Carolee (McKenzie) Lucas and husband, Mark, Finzel; one son, Kerry McKenzie and wife, Ruthann, Linthicum; one brother, Francis "Dick" McKenzie, Finzel; two sisters, Thelma Raley and Evelyn Shriver, both of Frostburg; mother-in-law, Grace McKenzie, Meyersdale, Pa.; three grandchildren, Tyler Lucas, Eric Filsinger and Heather Filsinger; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. The Christian Wake services will be recited on Tuesday at the funeral home at 8 p.m. by Brother James Kirkpatrick. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. with the Rev. Milton Hipsley as celebrant. Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park. Frostburg – July 9 – Mrs. Fannie A. McKenzie, widow of the late Jacob McKenzie, died Sunday evening at her home here. She was in her eighty-eighth year. The funeral will be held Wednesday at 9:30 AM at St. Michael’s Church. Burial will be at St. Ann’s Cemetery, Avilton. Mrs. McKenzie leaves the following children: Mrs. Joseph Welsh, Mrs. Robert Minnick, Mrs. Joseph Minnick, John and Patrick McKenzie of this city, Richard McKenzie, Garrett County, Mrs. Oscar McKenzie, Grantsville. Meyersdale, September 7 - George McKenzie, 66, was instantly killed Tuesday afternoon while enroute to his home at Deal, eight miles east of here, when his car was forced from the highway a short distance from Pittsburg by a machine whose driver did not stop. The Daily Courier, Connellsville, September 7, 1932.

He is buried in the Greenville Lutheran Cemetery, Pocahontas, Pennsylvania.

George McKenzie, 66, of Meyersdale R. D., was killed, and his wife, 59, was critically hurt, when their car was forced off the highway at Steubenville, Ohio, Tuesday. They were returning form Rainsville, Ohio, where they had been visiting with their son, Delbert, since last Saturday. Mrs. McKenzie is in the Ohio Valley hospital, Steubenville in a critical condition. Undertaker W. C. Price of Meyersdale left for Steubenville Tuesday afternoon and was expected to return with McKenzie's body this morning. George McKenzie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Francis McKenzie of Sand Patch, was a well-known farmer. His father, 88, and his mother, 87, both survive. Surviving also are five brothers, Charles, of Frostburg, Md., Joshua and Louis, of Sand Patch, and Thomas and Joseph, of Finzel, Md. One sister, Mrs. Charles Bolden of Broadway, Meyersdale, and these children also survive: Delbert McKenzie of Rainsville, O.; Mrs. Leora Butler of Sand Patch; Mrs. Margaret Hay of Salisbury, and Dallas and Silas McKenzie at home.
