Emmaline Anna-Maria MCKENZIE was born on 17 Aug 2003 in Cumberland, Allegany Co., Maryland. She died on 16 Apr 2007 in Baltimore, Baltimore Co., Maryland. FROSTBURG - Emmaline Anna-Maria McKenzie, 3, of 12629 Vale Summit Road, went to be with the Lord on Monday, April 16, 2007, at Johns Hopkins Hospital as a result of a freak accident involving a rock on Vale Summit Road. Born Aug.17, 2003, in Cumberland she was the daughter of Ronald F. McKenzie Jr. and Stacey (Gomer) McKenzie, of Vale Summit. She was preceded in death by her pappy, Richard Gomer; great grandpap, Stanley Hitchins; and great grandpap, Irvin Gomer. Surviving besides her parents, is her sister, Isabella Noel "Izzy B" McKenzie, at home; great grandparents, Francis and May (Caton) McKenzie; great grandmothers, Anna (Fatkin) Hitchins and Barbara Cutter; great grandmother Jeanette (Sperry) Gomer; grandparents, Ronnie and Vickie (Cutter) McKenzie and Mary C. (Hitchins) Gomer; aunts and uncles, Steph and Bob Beeman, Jennifer and Russel Seigmyer; great aunts and uncles, Debbie and Doug Arnold, Danny McKenzie, and special friend, Ruth Friend, Terry McKenzie, and special friend, Helen, and Jim and Shirley Powell; great aunt, Linda (Gomer) Raley; cousins, Alexis, Nicolos and Kristi Yoak, Jonathan Seigmyer, Ben, Sam, and Jake Beeman, Chris, Katie and Josh McKenzie, and Corey Arnold. Emmaline was a member of the Vale Summit United Methodist Church and she sang with the Sunday School Choir. She also loved attending preschool at Romney Elementary School. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, 60 W. Main Street, Frostburg on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. George M. Harpold officiating. Interment will be in Vale Summit Cemetery. Pallbearers will be uncles, Bob Beeman and Russell Seigmyer; great uncles, Doug Arnold, Terry McKenzie, Danny McKenzie and Jim Powell. Memorial contributions may be directed to a trust fund in honor of Emmaline's sister and best friend Izzy B. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home. Emmaline was a special little girl who always had a smile for everyone. She cared and loved everyone she met. She only lived a short three years, but in that time she touched many lives. Francis "Dick" Raymond McKenzie, 90, of Finzel, passed away peacefully at UPMC Western Maryland Thursday, Sept. 10, 2020.
Born Dec. 5, 1929, he was the son of the late John William "Satchel" McKenzie and Grace Virginia (Michael) Jeffries McKenzie. He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Joshua Daniel McKenzie; great-granddaughter, Emmaline Anna Maria McKenzie; two brothers, John W. McKenzie Sr. and Eugene "Flooze" McKenzie; and two sisters, Hilda Giles and Wilma Femi. Francis came from a big family of 24 half-brothers and 11 half-sisters; he is the last of his siblings. Mr. McKenzie was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, St. Michael Church. He retired from Clappers Industries. Dick was a very hard worker, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His family was his joy and life. Francis was a simple man not wanting for anything. He liked taking long walks. Surviving are his wife of 66 years, May Emmaline (Caton) McKenzie; three sons, Ronald McKenzie and wife, Vicki, Zilhman, Danny McKenzie and friend, Ruth, Pocahontas, Pa., Terry McKenzie and wife, Jamie, Finzel; one daughter, Debbie Arnold and husband, Doug, Frostburg; three grandsons, Ronald Jr. McKenzie and wife, Stacey, Frostburg, Christopher McKenzie and wife, Allison, Finzel, Corey Arnold, Frostburg; one granddaughter, Katie Broadwater, Grantsville; four great-grandsons, Noah, Jerad, and Chad McKenzie and Austin Broadwater; two great-granddaughters, Isabella McKenzie and Savana Broadwater. Also surviving are sister-in-law, Hazel McKenzie, Finzel. Friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Monday, Sept. 14, 2020, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted after the viewing at 1 p.m. with the Rev. George Harpold officiating.
