Minnick, age 64, of 12914 Sixth Ave., Cresaptown, died Friday, April 30, 1999, at his residence. Born June 3, 1935, in Frostburg, he was the son of the late Marion and Mildred (Jeffries) Minnick. Mr. Minnick was a former employee of the Mount Savage Refractory. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Frostburg. Surviving are two sons, James L. Minnick, Hiddenite, N.C., and Ronald F. Minnick, Cresaptown; one daughter, Judy Minnick, Mount Savage; former wife, Shirley (Platter) Decker; two brothers, Robert Minnick and Ronald Minnick; one sister, Leona Baker, all of Frostburg; four granddaughters, Tracie Minnick, Heather Minnick, Candise Unger and Shana Unger; and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, P.A., 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Paul Byrnes officiating. Interment will be in the Frostburg Memorial Park Cemetery.

FROSTBURG — Marion J. Minnick, 62, of Kemp Drive, died Wednesday at Frostburg Community Hospital, where he had been a patient four weeks. Born in Frostburg, he was a son of the late Joseph and Frances (McKenzie) Minnick. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. Surviving are his widow, Mildred (Jeffries) Minnick; a daughter, Mrs. Leona Baker, here; three sons, Robert and Raymond Minnick, here, and James Minnick, Mt. Savage; three brothers, Allen Minnick, Frostburg; Lawrence Minnick, Cleveland, Ohio; and Eugene Minnick, Akron, Ohio; five sisters, Mrs. Ruth Durkin, Mrs. Angela Scarpelli, Eckhart; Mrs. Helen Brode, here; Mrs. Bessie Hotchkiss, Ridgeley; and Mrs. Anna Hickman, Akron; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The body is at the Durst Funeral Home, where friends will be received from 7 until 9 p.m. today. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. in St. Michael's Church. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Jerome Minnick, in April 1975. Mrs. Minnick was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church. She formerly was a housekeeper for Charlie's Motel, Frostburg. Surviving are three sons, Robert Jerome Minnick and wife Isabel, James Bernard Minnick, and Raymond Francis Minnick and wife Mary, all of Frostburg; one daughter, Leona Agnes Baker, Frostburg; two brothers, Francis Raymond McKenzie and wife Mary, and Eugene "Flooze" McKenzie and wife Hazel; two sisters, Thelma Raley and Evelyn Shriver; 14 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave., Frostburg, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayers for the departed will be recited at the funeral home Friday at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael's Catholic Church on Saturday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Born in Garrett County, a daughter of the late Jacob and Fannie (Christner) McKenzie, she was the last surviving member of that family. Mrs. Minnick was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church.
