FROSTBURG — Catherine Maria (Winner) Miller, 48, of Frostburg, went to be with Jesus Christ and her dad on Friday, March 28, 2008, at WMHS-Braddock Campus. Born Sept. 16, 1959, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of Evelyn C. (McKenzie) Winner and the late Frederick J. Winner. Cathy had been employed by the Western Maryland Health System for many years. She was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church and the Frostburg Church of the Nazarene. Cathy loved her husband, children and grandchildren more than anything. She enjoyed flowers, fishing, singing and she was an awesome cook. She was very compassionate towards others. She is loved by her family and friends and will be greatly missed. She will be kept in their hearts forever. Surviving, in addition to her mother, is her husband, Gregory Miller; three sons, Jesse Miller, of Virginia; Christopher Miller and wife Jenna, of Frostburg, and Cody Miller, at home, and one daughter, April Miller and fiancée Bo Raynor, of Lonaconing; three grandchildren, Kami Miller, Caitlyn Miller, and Luke Raynor; one brother, Joseph Winner and wife Maureen, of Short Gap; two sisters, Theresa Winner, of Kensington, and Maria Foye and husband James, of Lonaconing; and two nephews, Jeremy Skidmore and Timothy Winner. Friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home, P.A., Frostburg, on Monday, March 31, 2008, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, April 1, 2008, in the Frostburg Church of the Nazarene, 150 Center St., Frostburg at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Joseph Byers and Father Patrick Besel officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the funeral. Pallbearers will be Gregory Miller, Jesse Miller, Christopher Miller, Cody Miller, William Raynor and Jeremy Skidmore. Interment will be on the family farm.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother; devoted in her faith, a marvelous cook, and loved gardening and eating out. Surviving are daughters, Theresa Winner and Maria Foye and husband, Jim; son-in-law, Greg Miller; grandchildren, Tim Winner, April Miller, Chris Miller and wife Jenna, Jessie Miller and wife Amanda, Cody Miller and Jeremy Skidmore; great grandchildren, Victoria, Elisha and Joshua Winner, Caitlin, Kami, Caleb, Brielle, and Wyatt Miller, Luke Raynor; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Durst Funeral Home, 57 Frost Ave, Frostburg, MD, on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2019 from Noon to 1 p.m. with the funeral service to follow at 1 p.m. with Deacon Harold Bradley officiating. FROSTBURG - Mrs. Agnes Luella McKenzie, 77, of Finzel died yesterday at her residence. She had been in ill health two years. Born in Finzel, she was a daughter of the late Jacob and Mary (Werner) Steinla and was the widow of Julius C. McKenzie. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pocahontas. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Gladys Ravenscroft, at home; Mrs. Mary Layman and Mrs. Evelyn Winner, here; four sons, Hubert, Arthur and Carroll McKenzie, Finzel, and John C. McKenzie, Grantsville; 31 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Hi Betty, You said: I knew I probably had this mixed up. Who did Zachariah, son of John M. marry? He married Martha Emmaline McKenzie, daughter of Patrick McKenzie and Lavinia Getty. He died 26 July 1891 in Bloomfield Twp., Indiana, of heart disease. He died 12 days after a son was born to him and Martha, which must have been very difficult. I haven't found what became of Martha after his death, but she died before Lavinia Getty's death in 1909.

Zacharias McKenzie Dead.

GRANTSVILLE, Md., May 21.--Zacharias McKenzie, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Charles Warne, near Grantsville, May 17th, of pneumonia. He was aged 85 years, 2 months and three days. He was a native of Garrett County and was born and lived all his life in the Avilton district. He is survived by two sons, Thomas and Joseph, both of Avilton and four daughters, Mrs. Grant Dibler and Mrs. Ella Tress, Finzel, Md.; Mrs. William Garlitz, Avilton, and Mrs. Charles Warne, Grantsville, a large number of grandchildren and severa great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Monday morning in St. Ann's Catholic Church, Avilton, followed by burial in the church cemetery.
