- Jannette Louise Crowe (Janet) 69 of Cumberland, Maryland went to be with the Lord on Wednesday March 16, 2005 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Janet was a blessed Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend to so many. Born July 29, 1935 in Elliotsburg, PA, she was the daughter of Reverend Joseph Pearl Sheesley and Ester Ionia Hamilton Sheesley. She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant son James John Crowe, three sisters, Dorothy Jane Golden, Mildred Elizabeth Wagner, Belva Jean Michaels and one brother Ira Joseph Sheesley. She was a member of the First Church of God in Cumberland, MD for 48 1/2 years, and a member of the Women of Church of God (WCG) for many years. She taught Sunday school there for many years. She was also a member of the FOE 2883 Cresaptown Eagles where she has held each of the offices twice. She graduated from Mathis school in WV and she attended Shenadoah college. When her children were young she was a girl scout leader and a regional leader and she helped with head start. She was also active with Fort Hill Band Parents Association. Janet always did whatever she could for her family, her church and her friends. She is survived by her husband of 48 1/2 years Donald Raymond Crowe Sr., three sons Donald Raymond Crowe Jr. and wife Brenda of Dodgeville, Wisconsin, Gurney Cleveland Crowe and wife Eva of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Jerry Lee Crowe and wife Jennifer of Fort Ashby, West Virginia, and one daughter Cheryl Mae McCarty and husband Daryl of Cumberland, Maryland; six granddaughters Terri Christina Cassidy and husband Mike of Oakland, MD, Jannette Louise McCarty of Martinsburg, WV, Stephanie Louise Crowe and Emily Ann Crowe of Uniontown, PA, Alicia Lynn Crowe of Wisconsin, Raelynn Mae Crowe of Fort Ashby, WV, one grandson Donald Raymond Crowe III and she has her first great grandson Grant Mitchell Cassidy due in July. Also surviving are one brother Reverend Dwight Leroy Sheesley and wife Janice of Littlestown, PA, and one sister Ella Mae Holmes and husband John of California. She also has numerous nieces and nephews. Janet’s wishes were that her body be given for science research so that maybe even after her death she could help some one. A memorial service will be held at the First Church of God , 29 Delaware Ave. Cumberland, MD (behind Christopher photo lab), at 11:00 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 182 N.
