    MEYERSDALE - Harry George Shuck, 52, died suddenly Thursday at Meyersdale Community Hospital. Born here, he was a son of the late George and Alice (Burley) Shuck. Surviving are his widow, Frances (Durst) Shuck; three sons, Carl, here; Paul and Ira Shuck Jr., at home; two daughters, Georgia Shuck, at home; a sister, Mrs. Patricia Beal, Garrett; a brother, Ira Shuck, RD l; three sisters, Mrs. Rachel Kemp, Wellington, Va.; Mrs. Alice Atchison, Rockwood, and Mrs. Shirley Livengood, RD 1, and two grandchildren. The body is at the Leckemby Funeral Home, where friends will be received after 7 p.m. today. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 3:30 p.m., with Rev. Herbert Knox officiating.     MEYERSDALE, Pa. — Harry George Shuck Jr., 55, of Meyersdale, died Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at In Touch Hospice House, Somerset, Pa. Born Sept. 16, 1958 in Meyersdale, he is the son of Frances (Durst) Shuck, Berlin, Pa. and the late Harry G. Shuck Sr. Mr. Shuck was preceded in death by one son, Joshua L. Shuck; and one brother, Paul G. Shuck. Mr. Shuck was a past member of ABATE and participated in Somerset Alliance Church Blessing of the Bikes. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Carol M. (Garlitz) Shuck; one son, Jason P. Shuck, Elk Garden, W.Va.; one daughter, Jessica M. Shuck, Ridgeley, W.Va.; one brother, Carl Shuck, Meyersdale; two sisters, Patty Bittner, Meyersdale and Georgia Phillips, Winston-Salem, N.C.; and a special friend, Jane. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury, Pa., on Friday 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Doug Hartman officiating.     Notes:

    A Meyersdale, Pa., man was killed early Thursday when his car hit a tree headon. Paul Gary Shuck, 23, was pronounced dead at the scene by Somerset County Coroner Wilbur E. Miller. State Police said Shuck was traveling northbound on the Garrett Shortcut (legislative route 55031) when he lost control of the car and it hit a tree on the east berm. The accident occurred in Brother's Valley Township at 5:45 a.m. Berlin ambulance and rescue squad responded. Born in Meyersdale April 17, 1963, Mr. Shuck was the son of Frances (Durst) Shuck, RD 1, Meyersdale, and the late Harry George Shuck. Mr. Shuck was employed by the Somerset Country Club and served as assistant scoutmaster of Meyersdale Boy Scout Troop 142. Also surviving are his widow, Theresa (Housel) Shuck; two brothers, Carl Shuck, Meyersdale. and Harry G. Shuck Jr., RD 3, Meyersdale, and two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Wilt and Georgia Shuck, both of RD 1, Meyersdale. Friends will be received in the Leckemby Funeral Home, Meyersdale Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted there Saturday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Raymond Bittner. Friends received at Leckemby Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and at the Meyersdale Church of the Brethren from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, the time of service, with Pastor Randy Steele. Interment, Reformed Cemetery. Somerset Daily American, January 24, 1994
