    CUMBERLAND Edna Mae (Devore) Morris, 96, of Cumberland, went to be with her Lord, her husband, and her son as her loving family was gathered at her bedside, on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2002, at Memorial Hospital, Cumberland. Born July 1, 1906, in Ellerslie, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Rachel M. (Witt) Devore. She was preceded in death by her husband Peter M. Morris; one brother, Merle DeVore; one sister, Elsie Combs; one son, Richard J. Morris; two daughters-in-law, Marlene and Audrey Morris; and one granddaughter, Tammy Morris. Mrs. Morris was a member of the Christian Fellowship of Cumberland Church, 16 Virginia Avenue, and the Bedford Valley Senior Citizens Center. Surviving are two sons, James P. Morris, and the Rev. Francis E. Morris and wife Shirley, all of Cumberland; four daughters, Anna S. Taylor and husband Charles, Ellerslie, Mary T. Huffman Plummer and husband Robert, LaVale, Deloris M. Stottlemyer, Cumberland, and Shirley A. Plummer and husband Richard, W.Va.; 21 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 30 great-great-grandchildren. She will be missed by many special friends from Potomac Valley Revival Center and Christian Fellowship of Cumberland. She has been such a great inspiration to all. Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the Christian Fellowship Church, 16 Virginia Ave., on Wednesday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. David Stottlemyer officiating. Friends will be received at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be great-grandsons, Brian Morris, Stevie Morris, Jason Inglish, and grandsons, Wayne Morris, Jimmy Stottlemyer and Gregg Poland.

Born June 3, 1908, in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Rachael (Witt) DeVore. Mr. DeVore, a retired Western Maryland Railway worker, is survived by three sisters, Mary Smouse, Hyndman, Pa., Dorthy Bohn, Ellerslie, and Edna Morris, Cumberland; great-niece and nephew, Linda and Mark Winner, Haymarket, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. DeVore was also preceded in death by his wife, Pearl DeVore. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Faye Leydig officiating. Interment will be in Porter Cemetery, Hyndman.

Born Aug. 19, 1915, in Corriganville, she was a daughter of the late Benjamin and Rachel (Witt) DeVore. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Bohn in 1972; a brother Merle DeVore; sisters, Edna Morris, Mary Smouse and Elsie Combs. Dorothy was the last survivor of her immediate family. She is survived by a niece, Barbara Shroyer, of Ellerslie; great-niece, Linda Winner, of Haymarket, Va., and Sherry Stahlman of Ellerslie; and great-nephew, Mark Winner, of Germantown. Mrs. Bohn worked at the Celanese and Kelly Tire Company. She was a former member of Central Assembly of God and Chapel Hill Temple church. She also was a member of the Hyndman Senior Center.     ELLERSLIE —Anna Stacia Taylor, 89, of Ellerslie, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. Born July 21, 1924, in National, Mrs. Taylor was the daughter of the late Peter Michael Morris and Edna Mae (DeVore) Morris. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Richard Morris; and a sister, Shirley Plummer. Anna was a former employee of the Celanese Fiber Corporation of America supporting the war effort, then at Crystal Laundry before becoming a housewife and homemaker. She enjoyed fishing and canoeing at their camp at Little Orleans for over 40 years. Anna is survived by her husband of 61 years, Charles Taylor; her nieces, who were more like daughters, Carol A. Hillegas and husband, Earl and Theresa A. Stevens and husband, Larry, all of LaVale. She also leaves behind her sisters, Mary Plummer, LaVale and Delores Stottlemeyer, Rawlings; her brother, the Reverend Francis Morris and wife, Shirley, Cumberland; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; and her two dogs, Riley and Bailey. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014 from 6 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Larry Stevens officiating.     Born Feb. 26, 1927, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Peter Michael Morris and Edna (DeVore) Morris. Mr. Morris was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Audrey Virginia Morris, on May 25, 2001; a daughter, Tammy Lynn Morris; a sister, Shirley Plummer; and a brother, Richard Morris.

    A United States Naval veteran of World War II, Jim retired from Stroehman Bakery. He was a member of the Henry Hart Post 1411 V.F.W. and attended the Potomac Valley Revival Center.

    Jim is survived by his son, David Morris and his wife Roz, of Bedford, Pa; his grandchildren, Krista Morris, Tony Morris, Devin Morris, Shaunna Baker, Chad Baker, Chrissy Stevens, James Stevens and Earl Emerick; his sisters, Mary Plummer, Delores Stottlemeyer and Ann Taylor; and his brother, Francis Morris.

    Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur St., Cumberland, AdamsFamilyFuneralHome.com on Monday, March 2, 2009, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

    A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Michael Stottlemeyer officiating.

    Frostburg, MD- Delores Mae Stottlemyer, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Frostburg Village Nursing Home. She was born December 15, 1928 to the late Pete and Edna Morris. She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Rev. Michael Oliver Stottlemyer; her baby, Roger Stottlemyer; two sisters Anna Taylor; and Shirley Plummer; two brothers Richard Morris and wife Marlene; and James Morris and wife Audrey; and one son-in-law Arlie Lease. This amazing woman was one of seven siblings and gave birth to 10 children, losing the first shortly after birth. Her husband passed away when the youngest of the nine was only around seven years old. Says her grandson Greg, Jr., “I have trouble keeping up with three and cannot fathom this responsibility”. Those nine children Penny Lease; Vernon Stottlemyer and wife Lorna; Danny Stottlemyer; David Stottlemyer and wife Jean; Tom Stottlemyer and wife Luann; Debra Poland and husband Greg; Michael Stottlemyer and wife Rose; John Stottlemyer and wife Deborah; and James Stottlemyer and wife Terri; went on to provide her with 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, and 11 step grandchildren for a total of 73 (and growing). She is also survived by one brother Rev. Francis Morris and wife Shirley; one sister Mary Plummer; and two brother-in-laws Charles Taylor and Dick Plummer. This does not include all of the children's friends, friends of friends and people in the community to who she was Mom or Grandma. Along with her husband, she founded the Potomac Valley Revival Center in Rawlings, MD, which has been a consistent staple of the community for over 50 years. She ministered there many times especially after her husband passed. Virtually every single one of those "73" (old enough to talk) can tell stories of growing up in that church. While she wouldn't want to be put in the spotlight for it, that church has helped rescue and save the lives of more people than she ever knew. Says her grandson Greg, Jr. “What I do know is that as far back as I can remember, every time I walked in that church, I could count on seeing her sitting about five rows back, in the aisle, on the left side of that church.” Her strength shown throughout the years is only matched by her love of the Lord. Many may have known her as the persistent/reliable candy lady that was always at the mall selling peanut butter candy to raise money for the church. Most will remember the person who they could call 24/7, no matter what the reason, so that she could pray with/for you to the point that even though she was on the other end of the phone, it felt like she was in the room with you putting her hand on your shoulder saying it was going to be alright, and you believed it because she said so. Greg,Jr. says that “Today, Grandma went home to be with Pap. My favorite last memory was just last week getting back to town in time to introduce her to my Drew (#72). Not only will she be missed by her family, but there is a whole community that has lost a pillar.” We love you and will miss you! See you again soon.
