Lonaconoing - Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Jane Crawford, 55 years old, of Moscow, this county, who died in Miners Hospital, Frostburg, Tuesday, will be held from the Pentacostal Church, here, Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock with burial in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow. Rev. Shewbridge, pastor, will officiate. Mrs. Crawford died following an operation for the amputation of a leg, which followed the amputation of the other one, with pneumonia held as partly responsible for her demise. She was a daughter of the late Susannah and James Winebrenner of Mt. Savage. She lived in Moscow for 13 years, going there from Mt. Savage. She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Elmer Broadwater, Moscow; Mrs. Gibson Matthews, Morgantown, W. Savage, he was a son of the late Nathan and Jane (Winebrenner) Crawford. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church. He is survived by his widow, Rose (Green) Crawford; two daughters, Mrs. Myrtle Bills, and Mrs. Della Bardo, both of Rochester, N. Y.; five sons, Lester and Raymond, both of Barton; Christopher Jr., Midland; Roy, Baltimore, and David Crawford, Philadelphia, Pa.; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hyde and Mrs. Rose Hyde, both of Moscow, and Mrs. Stella Reel, Cascade, W. Va.; two brothers, Elmer, Terra Alta, W. Va., and Hillary Crawford, Ohio, and 13 grandchildren. The body will be taken to the Assembly of God Church in Lonaconing Saturday at noon. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Glyn, Baltimore; Mrs. Phyllis Richardson, Lonaconing; Mrs. Helen O'Malley, Takoma Park, and Mrs. Daris Arnold, Connellsville; a son, James Hyde, Moscow; two sisters, Mrs. William Reel, Morgantown, and Mrs. Elizabeth Hyde, Moscow; two brothers, Elmer Crawford, Terra Alta, and Hillary Crawford, Florida; and ten grandchildren. She was a member of the Nazarene Church, Moscow. SUTTON, W.Va. — Evelyn Ruth Glyn, 87, a long-time resident of Sutton, W.Va., died Monday, May 7, 2012, at Braxton County Memorial Hospital. Born Oct. 26, 1924, in Moscow, Mrs. Glyn was the daughter of the late Albion Mobray and Rose Ella (Crawford) Hyde. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Glyn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald D. Glyn; sisters Daris Arnold and Helen O’Malley; and brother, James Hyde. A graduate of Barton High School, she was a clerk and stenographer for the Social Security Administration in Maryland, where she worked her entire career. Her sister, Phyllis Richardson, of Lonaconing, and 10 nieces and nephews survive her. A private memorial service will be held in Western Maryland, where Mrs. Glyn was raised. LONACONING — Phyllis (Hyde) Richardson, 88, of Lonaconing, died Tuesday, July 14, 2015. Born on Feb. 6, 1927, in Moscow, she was the daughter of the late Albion Hyde and Rose Ella (Crawford) Hyde. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Evelyn Glyn, Doris Arnold, James Hyde and Helen O’Malley. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. A graduate of Barton High School, she was a homemaker. She had been employed with Kelly Springfield in Cumberland for 13 years. She was a member of the former Moscow Church of the Nazarene. She is survived by her son, Randall Richardson of Lonaconing, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, with the Rev. Fred Iser officiating. Inurnment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills. At the request of the family donations can be made to the Allegany County Animal Shelter at P.O. Mrs. O'Malley, who was born in Moscow, Md., graduated from the Gallinger Nursing School in Washington and was a registered nurse at D.C. General Hospital in the 1950s. She took time off to raise her children until 1973, when she returned to work as a nurse for the National Lutheran Home, where she became nursing supervisor. Her marriage to Joseph O'Malley Sr. ended in divorce. Survivors include five children, Patricia O'Malley of Gaithersburg, Katherine O'Malley-Simpson of Port Tobacco, Sharon O'Malley of College Park, Edward O'Malley of Buckeystown, and Joseph O'Malley Jr. of Germantown; two sisters; a brother; and three grandchildren. FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — James Albion Hyde, 77, of Dans Run Road, Fort Ashby, W.Va., passed away Friday, Feb.. 6, 2009, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center, Martinsburg. Born June 23, 1931 in Moscow, he was the son of the late Albion and Rose (Crawford) Hyde. A daughter, Tina Hyde, and two sisters, Helen O’Malley and Daris Arnold, also preceded him in death. Mr. Hyde was a graduate of Barton High School, Barton. He was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He retired from Westvaco Corp., in 1978, having worked in the 4 and 5 Beater Room Lab. He attended the Westernport Church of the Brethren, and was a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He leaves behind his wife, Ann (Hartman) Hyde; a son, Gary Hyde and wife Wilma, of Fort Ashby; a daughter, Debra Bohrer and husband James, of Ridgeley; two sisters, Evelyn Glyn, of Sutton, and Phyllis Richardson, of Lonaconing. He is also survived by three grandchildren, Jamie Russell and wife Hope, of Barton, Shane Russell, of Fruitland, and Daniel Hyde, of Fort Ashby, and three great-grandchildren, Kyiah, Brooke, and Kolby.
