"The Altamont News" (Altamont, IL) Tuesday, April 9, 1959 (page 1)

"FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. ZORA MCKENZIE HELD HERE MONDAY"

"Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the First Methodist Church for Mrs. Zora Mae McKenzie, who passed away at her home here Friday afternoon, April 3, following an illness of several months duration. She had observed her 80th birthday on Easter Sunday."

"Mrs. McKenzie, a daughter of the late Jacob and Nell Beck Durbin, was born in Effingham county March 29, 1879. On August 22, 1922, she was married to Curtis McKenzie, who died February 24, 1835. A sister, Flora, also preceded her in death."

"She was a member of the Methodist Church and the Royal Neighbor Lodge."

"Surviving are a number of cousins and several more distant relatives, and many friends. Among the latter is George Roedl, who resided in her home for a number of years and attended to her affairs."

"The Rev. Orlando Brakemeyer officiated at the funeral services. Burial was in the Union Cemetery with Gieseking Funeral Home in charge."
