    "Mrs. Mary Jane Tipsword, widow of the late Thomas Picket Tipsword, passed away Wednesday morning at her home southwest of this city. She had been ailing for sometime (sic) and death was due to a complication of diseases brought about by her advanced age of 71 years past."

    "Mrs. Tipsword is survived by the following children: Legora of Springfield and Thomas and Mrs. Lona Peterson at home." **

    "James O. Durbin, a highly respected and life-long resident of Louden (sic) township passed away early Sunday morning at his home near the Wright School House. He had been ill only a few days with pneumonia."

    The deceased, who was aged 68 years and 21 days at the time of his death, is survived by his widow, one brother Joe and one sister, Mrs. C. V. Tipsword and a host of other relatives and friends." **

    "ANOTHER MOTHER CALLED"

    "Mrs. C. V. Tipsword, one of the community's most highly respected mothers, passed away at 11:50 o'clock Sunday night after a lingering illness of several months."

    "The deceased was the mother of eleven devoted children who will miss her more than words can express. Although the end had been momentarily expected for several weeks, her passing cast a pallor of gloom over the entire community that can be lifted only by the reflection of her kindly deeds and the thought that a most useful life has gone to its reward."

    "OBITUARY"

    "Amanda A. Durbin, daughter of Benjamin and Katie Durbin was born in Fayette County, Illinois, Feb. 22, 1868, and departed this life at her home in Beecher City, January 10, 1932, aged 63 years, 10 months, and 19 days."

    "She was united in marriage to Clement (sic) V. Tipsword on June 15, 1886. To this union eleven children were born: four boys and seven girls, namely: Joseph L., Mrs. Minnie A. Cresap and Mrs. Geneva B. Fortner of Monticello; Mrs. Lora C. Starkey of Rantoul; Mrs. Mayme A. Shannon of Deland; Pearl I., Leo C., William Delno, Mrs. Ruth B. Jackson, Mrs. Thelma G. Phillips, and Mrs. Florence A. Peifer all of Beecher City."

    Surviving are the devoted husband, the eleven children, an aged mother--Mrs. Katie Durbin, one brother--Joseph Durbin, 19 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn their loss."

    "She united with the M. E. Church South about 15 years ago and lived a devoted Christian life until death."

    "She was a loving mother, a devoted companion, and true friend and a patient sufferer during her long illness."

    FUNERAL SERVICE

    "Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon at 1 o'clock at the Methodist Church by Rev. A. E. Kretzer assisted by Rev. A. R. Riechel. An octet sang "Going Down the Valley" and "Sometime We'll Understand." Mrs. F. H. Miller and Miss Edna Fortner sang "In The Garden" and Miss Edna Fortner sang "In That City." Interment was in the Beecher City Cemetery. The casket bearers were: Dale Peifer, Raymond and Leslie Starkey, Rondo Tipsword, Donzil Fortner and Leland Miller. Roland Tipsword carried a basket of flowers."

    "Among those from a distance in attendance at the funeral other than the children and their families were: Mr. and Mrs. William Tipsword of Rena, D. M. Tipsword and son Cleve of Sorento, Mrs.Lizzie Lechner, Mr. and Mrs. Chas. McKenzie, Mrs. Stroble and Mrs. Curt McKenzie of Altamont; Mrs. Mary Jones and son Acel McDonald of Fontanet, Ind., J. M.
