    "CHARLES MCKENZIE DIES SUNDAY FOLLOWING LONG ILLNESS; FUNERAL TODAY"

    "Charles McKenzie, 80, passed away at his home in this city at 11 p.m. Sunday after having been in poor health for some time."

    "The deceased was united in marriage to Lola Hotz June 16, 1901 and spent most of his married life in Altamont."

    "He is survived by his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Ralph Whetstone of Detroit, Mich., Mrs. Matthew McKendrick of Detroit, Mich., and Vera McKenzie of Chicago; two sisters, Mrs. Wm. Hosler of Monticello and Mrs. Saint Doty of Bement, and a half-brother, Joe McKenzie. He was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers, namely, Sarah, Nancy, Benjamin, Edward, James and Curtis."

    "Funeral services were conducted at the St. Clare Catholic church at 9 a.m. today, Rev. Joseph McKeogh officiating. Interment was made in Union cemetery, Altamont."

    "Mrs. Inez Louise Whetstone, 76, of Altamont, died at 1:15 p.m. on Monday, January 8, in Pleasant Acres Physical Rehabilitation Center, Altamont."

    "Born on September 2, 1902 in Moccasin, she was the daughter of Charles McKenzie and Lola Hotz McKenzie. She married J. Ralph Whetstone. He died in 1967. Mrs. Whetstone was a member of the Presbyterian Church."
