Mrs. Doreen Fay Berard of Red Deer, passed away at the Red Deer Hospice Society, Red Deer, on
Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at the age of 75 years. Doreen was born on September 24, 1934 at
Edmonton, Alberta.
She is survived by three daughters, Dale (Ron) Ellertson of Stettler, Alberta, Jackie (Chris) Pohl of
Red Deer, Alberta, Laurette (Dave) Berard of Bradenton, Florida, and a son, Marvin Berard of
Edmonton, Alberta. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Vicki (Blair), Daryl (Dawn), Alex, Jason
and Megan, and four great grandchildren, Colby, Logan, Jaeden and Alysse. She is survived by two
brothers, Reg (Marlene) Samis of Drayton Valley, Alberta, Eldon Samis of Bon Accord, Alberta.
Doreen was predeceased by her brother, Marvin, father, Herschel and mother Martha.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 5508-48A Avenue,
Red Deer, Alberta, on Tuesday, March 9, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. Cremation in care of Central Alberta
Crematorium Ltd., Red Deer, Alberta. Donations in Doreen's honour may be made directly to Red Deer
Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue T4R 3S6, and Canadian Cancer Society, 4730A Ross Street, Red
Deer, Alberta, T4N 1X2.
