- BARTON - George D. "Shorty" Robertson Jr., 64, of Novelty, Ohio, died Wednesday, May 13, 1998, at Geauga Regional Hospital, Claridon Township, Ohio. Born March 24, 1934, in Barton, he was the son of the late George D. Robertson Sr. and Ruth (Pysell) Robertson. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Robertson. Mr. Robertson was a die setter for Ford Motor Co., Walton Hills, for 30 years. He retired in 1984. Since retirement, he taxied for the Amish part-time for about 10 years. He enjoyed going to horse shows with his daughters. He also enjoyed bowling and playing softball. Surviving are his wife, Pearl (Wilt) Robertson; three daughters, Carol R. Summers, Garrettsville, Ohio, Janet G. Krejsa, Middlefield, Ohio, and Dorothy L. Culp, Garrettsville; one brother, James C. Robertson, Barton; one sister, Ruthann Zacot, Hagerstown; seven grandchildren, Rebecca C. Wilt, Amanda S. Wilt, Philip Wilt, Joseph D. Krejsa, Sarah M. Krejsa, Heather L. Culp and Danielle N. Culp. Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Sunday, May 17, from 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the chapel on Monday, May 18, at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
He was buried on 18 May 1998 in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Barton, Allegany Co., Maryland.
