- GRANTSVILLE — Goldie Catherine Wilburn, 80, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, June 1, 2014, at University of Maryland Hospital, Baltimore. Born March 8, 1934, at Jennings, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah (Wilt) Wilt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Marvin Wilburn, Jan. 30, 2000; one brother, Russell Wilt; two sisters, Leora Bittinger, Bertha Handwerk; one daughter, Mary Beckman; one son, David Wilburn; and grandson, Steven Beitzel Jr. Mrs. Wilburn worked in the Laundry Department at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville and was a member of Jennings Church of God. Surviving are one son, Michael Wilburn, Grantsville; three daughters, Connie Wi-lburn, North Carolina, Karen Uphold, Hagerstown, Brenda Wilburn, Grantsville; five sisters, Sylvia Platter and Peggy Wilburn, both of Grantsville, Elmeda Kitzmiller, Manassas, Va., Pearl Robertson, Ohio, Dolly Drees, Finzel; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, Wednesday, June 4, 2014, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday, June 5, 2014, at 11 a.m. with the Rev.
