  Notes	LAVALE — Charles Melvin Crosten Sr., 75, of LaVale, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center after a long bout with pneumonia. Born Oct. 25, 1935, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Oda W. Crosten and Viola (Getson) Crosten. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sandra “Sandy” L. Crosten, in 2002; and a daughter, Kelly M. Shaffer, in 2003. Mr. Crosten had been self-employed as a mason in Cumberland and the surrounding areas. He enjoyed deer hunting with his sons. Mr. Crosten also liked fishing. He is survived by seven sons, Charles M. Crosten Jr. and wife Audine, Steven Crosten, Brian Crosten, Wayne Crosten and fiancée Hilda, Jeffrey Crosten Sr. and wife Sandy, Michael Crosten and Chuck Crosten; one daughter, Sharon Crosten; 10 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and five great-grandsons; and a special relative, Edith Chaney. Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Tuesday from noon to 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with the Rev.
