- WESTERNPORT — Mrs. Fanny Grove, 66, Division Street, here, died yesterday at her residence. She had been in failing health the past four years. Born here, she was a daughter of the late Lincoln and Fanny (Blocher) Wilt. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church, Bethlehem Chapter 14 Order of Eastern Star, Mariam Rebecca Lodge 16, Calanthe Temple 8 Pythian Sisters, and the Bruce High School Sportsmen's Club. She was a former city police woman and was the first woman crossing guard in Westernport. She is survived by her husband, Anderson Grove; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Mann and Mrs. Charles Alkire, both of here; a son, Robert Grove, Hagerstown; a sister, Mrs. Elsie Wilson, Tiltonville, Ohio; three brothers, Harry Wilt, Tiltonville; Florian Wilt, Oakridge Tenn., and Ray L. Wilt, here; and two grandchildren. The body is at the Boal Funeral Home, where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and tomorrow from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. at the funeral home by Rev. Sumner Sawyers, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Rev. Dana Spence, Assembly of God Church. Interment will be in Philos Cemetery. The Cumberland News, December 13, 1973
