- Frostburg - Ben Layman 86, of Syracuse, N.Y., died Tuesday in a hospital there. Born in Frostburg, he was the son of the late George L. and Annie Louise (Crowe) Layman. His wife, Johanna (Ryan) Layman, preceded him in death. Surviving are three sons and two daughters, all of Syracuse; and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Wolfe, Hagerstown, and Mrs. Sam Neal [sic, Neat], Cumberland. Services and interment will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. in Syracuse. Cumberland Times, August 24, 1967
