- William M. Layman, caretaker of Greenmount Cemetery, died yesterday at his home in the cemetery. He was a member of the Junior Order United American Mechanics of Frostburg. Surviving are his widow, Rebecca Layman; his mother, Mrs. George Layman, and the following step-children; Mrs. Jesse Boggs, Mrs. Earl Matley, Miss Hilda Sagle, this city, and Mrs. Harry Lohr, Barrelville. The following brothers and sisters also survive; Mrs. George Layman, Mrs. Robert Ways, George and Ernest Layman, Borden Shaft; Owen and Lawrence Layman, Mrs. Nellie Long, Mrs. Joseph Koelker, Mrs. Samuel Neat, Cumberland; Mrs. Michael Diehl, Frostburg; Mrs. Charles Wolfe, Baltimore; Robert Layman, Detroit, MI; Benjamin Layman, Syracuse, N.Y. The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. from the home. The Rev. D. H. Steffens, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
