- FROSTBURG — John Walters, 62, of Carlos, died yesterday in Sacred Heart Hospital. He was a native of Gilmore, a son of the late Mose and Emma (Coeman) Walters and was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and an employe of the Celanese Fibers Corporation. Surviving are his widow, C. Viola (Crowe) Walters; one son, Joseph Walters, Baltimore; seven daughters, Mrs. Phyllis McKenzie and Mrs. Jacqueline Higgins, Vale Summit; Mrs. Emma Duckworth, Loartown; Mrs. Barbara Huzinec, Furnace Acres; Mrs. Elmira Drew, Frostburg, and Miss Deborah Ann Walters, at home; one sister, Mrs. Julia Jones, Lonaconing; two brothers, Mose Walters, Tallmadge, Ohio, and Thomas Walters, Lonaconing; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received at the Hafer-Sowers Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p. m. A requiem mass will be celebrated tomorrow at 9:30 a.m. at St. Michael Church. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. A Christian wake service will be conducted today at 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home. The Cumberland News, July 8, 1969
