- FROSTBURG - Mrs. Stella Crowe, 87, formerly of Frostburg, died Tuesday at Mount Carmel Hospital, Detroit, Mich. Born in Eckhart, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Carter and Catherine (Groter) Carter. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Anna Burgess, Detroit; four sisters, Mrs. Alice Lancaster, Mrs. Anna Scott, and Mrs. Ellen Seifarth, all of Frostburg, and Mrs. Catherine Rase, Eckhart; seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. The body was cremated. Cumberland News, Friday, September 28, 1984
