- William Jefferson Crowe, 85, of 534 Fairview Avenue, died yesterday in Allegany Hospital. He had been in failing health in recent months. Born in Barton, Mr. Crowe was a retired B. and O. carman's helper. His parents were the late Henry and Sarah (McIntyre) Crowe. He was a charter member of the Frostburg Arion Band and also belonged to Frostburg Aerie No. 1273, P. O. Eagles, and the Knights of Pythias there. Surviving are his widow, the former Miss Mary Offman; five daughters, Mrs. R. Heber Poland, Westernport; Mrs. Heyl D. Walker, this city; Mrs. Harry Pollock and Mrs. Claude Warehime, Baltimore; and Mrs. Harvey Danner, Chicago; three sons, Curtis Crowe, Cumberland; Orville Crowe, Baltimore; and Zach Crowe, Cleveland; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. The body is at the Hafer Funeral Home where services will be conducted tomorrow at 3:30 p. m. by Rev. Dr. Hixon T. Bowersox, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. KEIR 20 Apr 1894 The body of John Keir Jr. was located yesterday at 4:30 in the Bowery Mines, found by William Crowe under the direction of mine boss, Mr Robert Scott. He leaves a wife and 3 children and was 33 years of age, born in Neumiles, Ayershire, Scotland on mar 20, 1861 and came to America in 1870. The funeral is from the home with Rev Brett officiating and interment in Allegany Cemetery.
Mary Offman is the daughter of Unknown Offman and Catherine Lemmert [1, 2]. She was born on 29 Jun 1868 in Frostburg, Maryland. She died on 01 Aug 1955 in Cumberland, MD. Burial in St. Luke's Cemetery.

CROWE, Mrs. Mary (Offman) Mrs. Mary Crowe, 87, widow of William J. Crowe, died last night at her home, 534 Fairview Avenue. Born in Frostburg, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Henry Offman. Mrs. Crowe was a charter member of the Pythias Sisters in Frostburg and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid Society of the church. Mrs. Crowe was the oldest living member of Fort Cumberland Unit 13, Auxiliary. Surviving are three sons, Curtis V. Crowe, a patient in the Baker VA Center, Martinsburg, W. Va.; Frederick 0. Crowe, Baltimore, and Z. R. Crowe, Lakewood, Ohio; five daughters, Mrs. Katherine Poland, Westernport; Mrs. Ora Mae
Pollock and Mrs. Martha Warhime, both of Baltimore; Mrs. Marion Danner, Chicago, and Mrs. Ovelia Walker, with whom she resided, and eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. The body is at the Silcox Funeral Residence where services will be conducted Friday at 10 a. m. by Rev. Dr. Hixon T. Bowersox, pastor of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Mr. and Mrs. William J. Crowe Will Celebrate Anniversary Here Tomorrow
When Mr. and Mrs. William J. Crowe were married October 23, 1887 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Frostburg, the Arion Band played for the reception that followed. When Mr. and Mrs. Crowe celebrate their golden wedding day tomorrow evening at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Heyl D. Walker, 534 Fairview avenue, the Arion Band will be there in full force to play the same tunes, plus a few new ones. Mr. Crowe joined the famous Frostburg musical organization 58 years ago and still keeps his membership in it although he moved to Cumberland 20 years ago. Since coming to this city, Mr. Crowe has played in the band of Aerie 245, Fraternal Order of Eagles, and that band will be present also to serenade the celebrants. Mrs. Crowe, active in Frostburg organizations, has continued her interest in such affairs here. She belongs to the Central Y. M. C. A. Auxiliary, the Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and St. Paul's Lutheran Church groups. Six daughters and two sons will be here for the celebration tomorrow. A public reception will conclude the day's program, starting at 6 p. m. and continuing until 11. It is during this time that the bands will play. Besides Mrs. Walker, the daughters are Mrs. Claude Wareheim and Mrs. Harry Pollock, Baltimore; Mrs. H. A. Dana and Miss Hazel L. Crowe. R. N., Washington, D. C. unci Mrs. R. Heber Poland, Luke.
