- Ellerslie, MD - Jeffrey Craig Shaffer, 46, of Ellerslie, MD, passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. Born in May 19, 1968, in Cumberland, MD, Mr. Shaffer was the son of Charles “Patch” Shaffer and Linda (Logsdon) Shaffer. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents: Floyd and Jo Logsdon and his paternal grandparents: Flossie Smith and Craig Shaffer. A graduate of Mount Savage High School, class of 1986, Jeff was employed at ATK as an explosives operator. He was a member of the Ellerslie and Barrelville Outdoor Clubs and Sandy Crossing Hunting Club. Besides his parents, Jeff is survived by his wife: Jolene Shaffer; his daughters: Amber Weimer of Maryland; Jessica Shaffer of Texas; and his son: Jared Wotring of Maryland. He also leaves behind his brothers: Mike and Eric Shaffer; his sisters: Marla Ward and Julie Shaffer; as well as several nieces and nephews, especially close to Jeff were Jennifer and Jamie and their children; two grandchildren; and his special dogs: Junior, Keara, and Leah. Friends will be received at the Adams Family Funeral Home, P.A., 404 Decatur Street, Cumberland, MD, on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at the funeral home on Thursday, August 21, 2014, at 10:00 A.M., with Pastor Jim Jeffries officiating. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
