- SALISBURY, Pa. — Betty Lou Critchfield, 67, of Salisbury, Pa., went to be with the Lord in Heaven on Sunday, July 3, 2011, at Winchester Medical Center, Winchester, Va. Born Dec. 14, 1943, in Friendsville, she was the daughter of the late Emerson and Marie (DeWitt) Alexander. As a saved Christian, she was a member of Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher and AWANA youth leader. Betty will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife and mother to her husband, three daughters and her grandchildren. She was also employed as a beautician. Betty enjoyed being an artist and was honored by the sale of numerous pieces of her artwork. Surviving are her husband of 44 years, Paul J. Critchfield, whom she married on Oct. 22, 1966; three daughters, Joy Ann Bittner and husband Kevin, of Springs, Pa., Pamela Sue Thompson and husband Terry, of Cumberland, and Ann Marie Brooks and husband Jeffrey, of Las Vegas, Nev. and five grandchildren, Tyler Walker, Dominique Tijerina, Wade Thompson, Travis Thompson and Jesse Brooks. Friends will be received on Wednesday, July 6, 2011, from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Newman Funeral Home, Inc., 9168 Mason-Dixon Highway, Salisbury, where services will be conducted at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Randy Haulk officiating. Interment will be in Salisbury Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to Meyersdale Grace Brethren Church. Cumberland Times-News, July 5, 2011
