- Alice Elizabeth Lowery, 87, Ellerslie, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2002, at Lions Manor Nursing Center, Cumberland. Born Aug. 31, 1914, in Hyndman, Pa., she was a daughter of the late Robert and Alice (Guard) Campbell. The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Orvil Lester Lowery, in 1975; and by five brothers and five sisters. Surviving are two sons, Donald W. Lowery, Ellerslie, and Twain N. Lowery, Corriganville; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was a homemaker and a caregiver for elderly friends and neighbors. She attended the Bethel Church of the Nazarene, Cumberland. Friends were received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, where a service was conducted on Wednesday, Jan. 30, with the Rev. Kevin T. Lowery officiating. Interment was in Porter Cemetery, Hyndman. Zeigler Funeral Home obituary
