- February 06, 2008 - Cumberland Times-News - YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Lena (Martens) Rizer, 94, of Youngstown, died Monday, Jan. 28, 2008. Lena was born in Frostburg on May 2, 1913, daughter of the late Walter Edward and Emma (Tressler) Martens. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John Francis Rizer; as well as brothers, Franklin, Robert and Elmer Martens; and sisters, Hazel Martens, Emma Walker and Eleanor Thompson Beaver. Before moving to Youngstown, Lena worked for many years in the G.C. Murphy store in Frostburg. Lena is survived by two daughters, Linda (Jim) McClelland, Alexandria, Va. and Shirley (Robert) Lee, Salem, Ohio; and four grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, LaVerne Yutzy, Pocahontas, Pa.; and a brother, Carl E. Martens, Frostburg. Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 2, 2008 in Youngstown.
Lena Viola MARTENS and John Francis RIZER were married on 9 Apr 1944.
