Surviving are his wife of 53 years, Janet R. (Winebrenner) Charlton, Tucson; one daughter, Patty Hershiser, Tucson; three sons, Robert L. Charlton Jr. and wife Linda, LaVale, Terry W. Charlton and wife Janet, Cumberland, and Alan D. Charlton and wife Betty, Tucson; 10 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. A private service will be held in Cumberland, at the convenience of the family.
