- ECKHART — Mrs. Loretta Higgs, 59, of Piney Mountain Road, died yesterday at Sacred Heart Hospital, Cumberland. A native of Barton, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Anna (Folk) Myers. Mrs. Higgs was a former employe of the Eckhart Elementary School cafeteria for 19 years. She was also a member of the Eckhart United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband, Ezra J. Higgs; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Wotring, Cresaptown; three brothers, Clement Myers, Rawlings; George Myers, Frostburg, and Floyd Myers, Cumberland; one sister, Mrs. Rae Cunningham, Frostburg, and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service will be conducted there tomorrow at 2 p.m. Rev. Jack R. Pease will officiate and burial will be in Eckhart Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Walter Tharp, Robert Shaffer, Wilmer Boar, Lewis M. Twigg, Thomas Brobst and Paul Cage.
