- John W. Lewis, 70, of Red Hill, on Route 40, died yesterday afternoon of a heart attack while on his way home on a C. and W. bus. The bus driver called State Police and Sgt. Harold C. Carl and Trooper George M. Browning took Lewis to Allegany Hospital in the police ambulance. On the way the officers used a resuscitator in an attempt to revive Lewis who was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. Dr. Linne H. Corson, deputy county medical examiner, said death was due to a heart attack. Lewis is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mary C. Himmelwright Martens Lewis; two stepsons, Joseph Martens, this city; and Sgt. James Martens, United States Army, St. Joseph, Mo.; two stepdaughters, Miss Goldie Martens, Red Hill; and Mrs. Edward Sutton, Cresaptown. Lewis attended the Salvation Army chapel services.
