  Notes	Cumberland - Genevieve F. Porter, 89, of Cumberland, formerly of Hyndman, Pa., died May 7, 2004, in Cumberland. She was born Aug. 26, 1914 in Ellerslie, the daughter of Franklin and Elva (Cook) Fries. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred P. Porter, who died in 1989; and her brothers, Franklin and Jack Fries. She is survived by children, Anne and husband James Little of LaVale and David and wife Andrea (Renner) Porter of Satellite Beach, Fla.; grandchildren, Tara and Tracey Little. She is also survived by a sister, Emma Lea Currie of St. Petersburg, Fla. and a brother, Daniel Fries and wife Judy of St. Petersburg, Fla. Mrs. Porter was an elementary teacher for 35 years. At the time of her retirement in 1976, she was the principal at Hyndman Elementary School. She was a member of First Avenue Methodist Church, Hyndman, the Order of the Eastern Star, Delta Kappa Gamma Honor Society, the WMHS Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, the AARP and the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees. She did volunteer work at the Hyndman Londonderry Public Library of which she was a founder. She was a 1931 graduate of Allegany High School, and a 1943 graduate of Madison College, Harrisonburg, Va. Friends will be received at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence St., Hyndman, on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at 4 p.m. with the Rev. David Klink officiating. Interment will be at Porter Cemetery, Hyndman. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to the Hyndman Londonderry Public Library in memory of Mrs. Porter.
