  Notes	Fred P. Porter, 76, of Church Street, Hyndman, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 1989, at the University Hospital of Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey. He was born April 26, 1913, in Altoona, a son of the late James V. and Kathryn (Raley) Porter. He is survived by his wife, Genevieve (Fries) Porter. His death ends a marriage of 48 years. Also surviving are one son, David F. Porter of Titusville, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs. Anne P. Little of LaVale, Md.; two granddaughters; one brother, Robert L. Porter of Annaheim, Calif.; and a half-sister, Janet W. Phillips of Ellerslie, Md. Mr. Porter was a graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, served with the U.S. Army in the Aleution Islands in World War II, and retired with 27 years of service with Hyndman High School as a geography and drivers education teacher. He was a member of the Hyndman First United Methodist Church, the Hyndman VFW Oscar Jordan Post 7375, a 35-year member and past president of the Hyndman-Londonderry Lions Club, and a member of United Commercial Travelers and the Pennsylvania State Education Society. Funeral services: Saturday, Dec. 23, at 11 a.m. in the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with the Rev. Joseph R. Stains officiating. Burial at Porter Cemetery near Ellerslie.
