- She died in Mar 1971 at the age of 71 in East Liverpool, Columbiana Co., Ohio. MT. SAVAGE — Mrs. Pleasant (Peg) Armstrong, 71, Lennyville, W. Va., died recently at City Hospital, East Liverpool, Ohio. A native of here, she was born February 28, 1900, a daughter of the late John Crawford and Anna Elizabeth (Winebrenner) Crawford. She was a member of the Gold Star Mothers' Club and was a member of Chester, W. Va., Church of Christ. Surviving are her husband William R. Armstrong; two sons, Robert J. Lashley, of here, and Albert Armstrong, East Liverpool; three daughters, Miss Maxine Armstrong, Carpenteria, Calif.: Mrs. Elton Schon, Chester, W. Va., and Mrs. Joan Phillips, Punxsutawney, Pa.; a step daughter, Mrs. Kathleen Beard, Fontana, Calif.; a brother, Albert Cassidy, Baltimore; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Murphy, Chester; 24 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Services were conducted March 3 in East Liverpool by Rev. Frank Higgenbotham. Interment was in Locust Hill Cemetery, Chester, W. Va. The Cumberland News, March 12, 1971
