- John R. McMullen died at Miners Hospital, Frostburg, early Thursday morning, following an illness of one year of complications. Mr. McMullen was born here 74 years ago, and resided here all his life. Starting as an apprentice plasterer at 11 years, he followed this trade for 62 years. His reputation for proficiency and business integrity in his chosen work is well known throughout this region. His wife died 2 years ago. Mr. McMullen is survived by sisters Mrs. Bernice Dudley, Eckhart, and Mrs. J.C. Willson, Baltimore; brother, George McMullen; and daughters, Mrs. Raymond Ogden, LaVale; Mrs. L.J. Ball, Clearfield, Pa.; Mrs. Jennie Fisher, Eckhart, and one son, Frank, this place. Mr.McMullen was a member of Coal Valley Council No. 7, Jr.O.U.A.M. and the Eckhart Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral will be held from the home with interment in the Eckhart Cemetery.
