Nellie Sophia Porter, 83, Ellerslie, Md., died at the Penn Wood Nursing Home on Friday, August 26, 1966. She was born July 9, 1883, in Colerain Township, Bedford County, a daughter of the late Harlan and Martha (Ressler) Waltman. Her husband, John Porter, died in 1965. She is survived by these five children: Mrs. H. M. Carpenter, and Mrs. Charles Holler, both of Hyndman; Mrs. Charles Thompson, Hyattsville, Md.; Harlen E. Porter, Buffalo Mills, and Richard E. Porter, Ellwood City, Pa. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Zimmers, Toledo, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Ellerslie Evangelical United Brethren Church. Funeral services: Monday, August 29, at 2 p.m. in the Zeigler Funeral Home, Hyndman, with the Rev. Clewell E. Miller officiating. Interment in the Porter Cemetery. The Bedford Gazette, August 29, 1966 She was buried in Porter Cemetery, Hyndman, Bedford Co., Pennsylvania.
