Born in Londonderry Township, Pa., he was a son of the late Norman and Sarah (Stair) Porter. He was a member of the Ellerslie Methodist Church and the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Nellie (Waltman) Porter; three daughters, Mrs. Alma Thompson, Hyattsville; Mrs. Alverna M. Carpenter and Mrs. Martha Loy Holler, both of Hyndman, Pa.; two sons, Harlan E. Porter, Buffalo Mills, Pa.; and Richard E. Porter, Ellwood City, Pa.; one brother, James Porter, Ellerslie; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. The body is at the Zeigler Funeral Home in Hyndman where friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow. Services will be conducted at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday by Rev. J. Howard Smith, pastor of the Ellerslie EUB church. Burial will be in Porter Cemetery, Hyndman.
