- FROSTBURG — Walter Lester Engle, 74, formerly of Eckhart, died in Okeechobee, Fla., where he had resided 14 months. Born in Eckhart, he was a son of the late Walter and Cecelia (Porter) Engle. Mr. Engle was a retired merchant and butcher and well known in the area. He was a member of the Eckhart United Methodist Church, Mountain Lodge 99 AF&AM, Frostburg, Cumberland Consistory AAASR 32nd Degree and Ali Ghan Shrine Temple AAONMS. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Laura (Deneault) Engle; a son, Walter L. Engle, Frostburg; two daughters, Mrs. Betty Cook, Flintstone; Mrs. Esther Connor, Orlando, Fla., and nine grandchildren. The body will be returned to the Durst Funeral Home. The Cumberland Sunday Times, December 14, 1975
