- LONACONING — Phyllis Regina McKenzie, 81, of Jackson Street, Lonaconing, died Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010 at her residence. Born July 26, 1928 in Westernport, she was the daughter of the late Russell B. Lambert and Clara Jane (Clark) Lambert. She was preceded in death by her spouse, John E. McKenzie; her brothers, Denver Lambert, Lewis Lambert, David Lambert and Calvin Hott; three sisters, Mary C. Getson, Thelma McCarty and Theresa McDonald; and one special brother-in-law, William "Billy" Getson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was of the Catholic faith. She worked as a child development teacher for HRDC. She is survived by her children, Mitchael E. McKenzie and wife Linda K. of Lonaconing, Patrick R. McKenzie and wife Madison of Lonaconing, Gail M. McKenzie and fiancé Joe Yates of Frostburg; grandchildren, Michael Hast and wife Joyce, Shawn McKenzie and wife Jen and Russell McKenzie all of Lonaconing, Doug Peebles and wife Widge of Frostburg and Missy Rounds of Lonaconing; great-grandchildren, Hannah, Bubby, Casey, Brooke, Megan, Chris, David, Maddox and Larissa and unborn grandson, Mason; two sisters, Lydia "Honey" Jenkins and Alice Roomers both of Virginia; and many very special nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the Eichhorn-McKenzie Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing, on Monday, Feb. 1, 2010 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 10 a.m. with Deacon Willard F.
