- LONACONING - Byard A. McKenzie, 80, of Route I, McKenzie Road, died Monday, Feb. 17, 1992 at Meyersdale (Pa.) Community Hospital. Born March 24, 1911 in Garrett County, he was the son of the late Olen and Annie E. (Winner) McKenzie. Mr. McKenzie was a farmer and was a member of old St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Avilton. Survivors include his wife, Dollie Frost (Turner) McKenzie; one daughter, Mary Ann Minnick, Lonaconing; one brother, Howard McKenzie, Avilton; one sister, Leora Brown, Avilton; six step-grand-children; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Home, Grantsville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at old St. Ann’s Catholic Church Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. by Father William Moody. Interment will be in St. Ann’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be William Turner, Bernard McKenzie, Roger Minnick, John Robinson, James Mazer, and Gerald Mazer.
