"PROMINENT JEWELER DIES HERE"
"Ottis Doty, a jeweler here for about 25 years, died suddenly Sunday, March 10, at 4:10 p.m., shortly after he had entered Kirby Hospital."
"Mr. Doty was long active in civic and community affairs and recently returned from a Florida vacation with his wife and old friends."
"He was born February 28, 1908 at Beecher City and he was the son of St. Clair and Margaret McKensie (sic) Doty."
"He was married June 30, 1934, to Marjorie Widener, who survives him."
"He also leaves a son, Fred Doty of Monticello, a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ann Larsen, three grandchildren, and his father, St. Clair Doty, who was 96 this week and is a patient at Bement Rest Haven."
"Mr. Doty had four brothers Byron and Raymond, both of Decatur; P.E. Doty, Lincoln; Francis, Bement, and two sisters, Mrs. Viola (sic) Hendrix, Bethesda, Md. and Mrs. Golda Brady, Decatur."
